Position description
The Staff Chaplain is a core member of the hospice interdisciplinary team and provides direct and indirect spiritual assessment, spiritual care, ministry to patient and families, end-of-life discussion, participates in interdisciplinary patient staffing, coordination of services with community clergy, administers/coordinates sacrament and rites to patients in the place they call home, participates in memorial programs and and continuous improvement activities, serves on committees, and performs such other duties as are agreed upon by the Director and Staff Chaplain.
Qualifications
Master of Divinity Degree or master's degree in theology or pastoral care or the equivalent required. Ordination and/or ecclesiastical endorsement by the faith group to practice as a chaplain. CPE training of at least four Units. General qualifications: Emotional and spiritual maturity Compassion and rapport with patients/families/staff/providers Respect for faith and spiritual traditions Comfort level in working with patients and families facing chronic, terminal illness. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Networking and relationship building skills Basic computer skills.
Additional qualifications
Additional languages preferred.
License or certification
Current certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., or certification eligible.

Valid WI driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.

Current Basic Life Support certification

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $xx.xx per hour.

Schedule details
The chaplain has autonomy and flexibility in creating his/her schedule, based on patient need and circumstances. Scheduled weekday hours mainly between 8am-4:30pm.
Weekend schedule
Occasional weekend hours may occur related to patient/family need or memorial service. No scheduled call required at this time.
