Responsibilities: Charter House, Mayo Clinic’s only Retirement Community, is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead a team of seasoned healthcare professionals dedicated to compassionate and high quality care and services. This unique position will challenge your creativity and reward you with overwhelming support through dedicated face-to-face onboarding to ensure a successful start, weekly nursing grand rounds that count towards CEU’s, and 4 hours of annual leadership development/training. Using your leadership skills and clinical acumen you’ll develop, implement and evaluate policies, programs and services to enrich the lives and touch the hearts of older adults.

As a Continuing Care Retirement Community, Charter House continues to meet the needs of its residents as their needs change over time. As the Director of Nursing you will be empowered to:
  • Lead a comprehensive health care-team including a team of four Nurse Managers, coordinating and managing the health services department with compassion and a kind heart while at the same time holding staff accountable to the mission of Charter House
  • Play a key role on the Charter House Leadership team, working collaboratively with a cross-functional team to create an outstanding resident experience
  • Manage the clinical nursing practice for three distinct Federal/State licensed units
  • Use your leadership skills, clinical acumen and individuality to develop, implement and evaluate policies, programs and services to enrich the lives and touch the hearts of older adults


Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN level of education
  • Current Minnesota RN license
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in nursing service administration and/or nursing management role with line management responsibilities
  • Previous experience in Long Term Care required


Additional Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Home Health or acute care nursing is preferred.
  • Gerontological Certification is preferred


License or Certification: Current Minnesota RN license

Benefit Eligible: Yes
Exemption Status: Exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2752.00 based on a full-time position.
