Job Details

The Department of Nursing at USD invites applications and nominations for full-time faculty members for the Vermillion site. USD Nursing is one of ten programs within the USD School of Health Sciences, offering a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing degree in Vermillion, Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and Pierre. The School of Health Sciences and the USD/Sanford School of Medicine comprise the Division of Health Affairs. The University of South Dakota is a comprehensive liberal arts state institution with an enrollment of over 10,000 students.

The position will be 9-month, full-time. Salary and rank will be based on experience and credentials. This faculty will be responsible for classroom theoretical instruction with an emphasis in one or more of the following areas: adult medical/surgical, mental health and community/public health nursing; oversight and evaluation of students' clinical reasoning and clinical performance; assessment and evaluation of student learning; and implementation of patient simulations. Recent clinical experience is required. Experience in teaching in a baccalaureate or higher degree program preferred. Some travel to clinical sites may be expected.

The successful candidate will have a current, active, unencumbered license, eligible for licensure in South Dakota, and hold a minimum of a Master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program. Exceptional written and verbal skills are essential with the ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning, as well as a commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusiveness.
