Nurse Educator
Iowa City, IA

This position will function as Clinical Nurse Educator in the Education Service Line at the Iowa City VA Healthcare System.


Duties include, but are not limited to:


1. Use clinical expertise to provide organizational learning and development to new and current nursing staff.

2. Provide hospital employees with simulation learning opportunities through the Simulation Center.

3. Collaborate with nurse managers and supervisors to provide feedback on clinical performance of direct care staff.

4. Develop and implement employee education using evidenced based practice.

5. Evaluate practice to ensure care is effectively and efficiently provided and will ensure patient safety is maintained.

6. The incumbent should possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team 7. Participates in hospital-wide quality improvement projects, and committees


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
