The James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx VAMC affiliated with the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine (NYC), numerous Nursing Academic Affiliations and the Hospital for Special Surgery, is located in the NW Bronx on a self-contained campus easily accessible by car (free parking for eligible employees) and public transportation.

 

Opportunity available for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Home Care Program

 

Basic Qualifications: Nurse practitioner must be licensed or otherwise recognized as a nurse practitioner in a State, must have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration, possess a master’s degree from a program accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE, and maintain full and current certification as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body. The certification must be in the specialty (Spinal Cord Injury; or Adult Nurse Practitioner). U.S. Citizen and English language proficiency is required by 38 U.S.C. 7402 (d) and 7407 (d), and physical standards (See VA directive and Handbook 5019)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner program with a BSN (NLN or AACN program)
  • Certificate as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Current/valid unrestricted RN License (any U.S. State). 
  • Three years of experience  as a Nurse Practitioner
