Nursing Assistant (HUC)
Madison, WI

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care activities under the supervision of the registered nurse.  May be trained for specific functions such as phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, Health Unit Coordinator clerical functions, or telemetry monitoring.  Assist with/performs appropriate nursing tasks for patients including but not limited to:

  • Primary duty is HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR (HUC).
  • Assist or provide patients with personal hygiene.
  • Obtain blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and blood glucose (finger stick) and records them appropriately in the medical record.
  • Weight patients and records them appropriately in the medical record.
  • Assist with/performs under the direct supervision of the recreation/occupational/physical therapist therapeutic and diversion activities for patients.
  • Answer call lights promptly.
  • Assist during emergency situations including, but not limited to CPR as needed.
  • Assist the nurse/MD/NP during procedures/treatments as needed following appropriate standards and guidelines.
  • Perform one to one observation as assigned.
  • Assist the team in reinforcing educational needs with patients.

Work Schedule:  Full Time - Days and every other weekend
