Responsibilities: The patient care assistant assists patient care unit staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The patient care assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. (001212)

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited program of surgical technology under the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or current certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS – certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:
•American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers)
•Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers)
•Military Training Network

Additional Qualifications: Adapts to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner. Comprehensive understanding of surgical processes and procedures preferred. Two years successful surgical technologist experience in acute care, perioperative or surgical setting within the last five years preferred.


License or Certification: Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Minimum rate is $16.55 based upon union contract.
Hours/Pay Period: 40 hours per 2 week pay period
Schedule Details: Sunday – Saturday; Day/Nights, 8 & 12-hour shifts – NOT NEGOTIABLE
Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend (Weekend A) – NOT NEGOTIABLE
