The James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx VAMC affiliated with the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine (NYC), numerous Nursing Academic Affiliations and the Hospital for Special Surgery, is located in the NW Bronx on a self-contained campus easily accessible by car (free parking for eligible employees) and public transportation.

We are currently recruiting for 1 Full-time REGISTERED NURSE - Tour of duty - Monday through Friday with one day off during the work week. (4 day work week) - 8:30am - 6:30pm.


The vacancy is located in Home Base Primary Care Unit of the Extended Care Program.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in home care and geriatric population preferred

BSN/MSN preferred



The HBPC RN functions as a care manager for the HBPC assigned veterans, and is responsible for:

  • Assessing and continually reassessing the needs of veterans and caregivers.
  • Delivering nursing care in the home setting.
  • Provides health education to patients and their caregivers
  • Participates in HBPC weekly team meetings
