This position assists in oversight of the Med/Surg/Peds, ICU and ED units at our Red Wing and Lake City locations.
Position description
The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is accountable for the coordination of patient care across a continuum of services. Partnering with hospital leadership, the PCS facilitates achievement of clinical targets and ensures the quality, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness of services delivered utilizing knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures as outlined for the medical center.

The PCS coordinates daily staffing needs, patient admissions and bed placement.

The PCS supervises all inpatient care staff and daily clinical and administrative functions and provides 24/7 medical center leadership and supervision in the absence of departmental and administrative leadership.
3 years of acute RN experience required.

Graduation from an associate's or diploma nursing program is required

All associate degree or diploma registered nurses with a RN start date after September 1, 2013, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing within 6 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.
Additional qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Bacherlor's in Nursing program preferred.
5 years of acute care RN experience preferred.
Leadership experience preferred.
Care Management/UR experience preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.

Nursing Practice Skills required:
Skilled generalist in nursing practice
Care Planning skills
Knowledge of Nursing practice and standards
License or certification
Current MN RN license required at time of hire.

Current Basic Life Support required at time of hire.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire (once ACLS is obtained, BLS is no longer required).
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required within 6 months of hire.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 6 months of hire.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $38.69 per hour.

Schedule details
12 hour rotating day/night shifts.
Rotating holidays.
Weekend schedule
Every third weekend.
