RN (Associate Chief Nurse Executive - Operative Care Division)

The Associate Chief Nurse Executive (ACNE) for the Operative Care Division (OCD), has programmatic, clinical, and administrative responsibilities for the following elements: Surgical, Anesthesiology, Dental, Dermatology, and Eye Care Services; a Pre-Op Clinic, Operating Room (OR) Program, Outpatient Surgery Unit (OSU), and Post­ Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU); with support personnel for OCD clinical, administrative, and research activities. Subspecialty care includes Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology  (Ear, Nose, Throat), Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Transplant, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. These programs include high rates of activity and broad mission involvement. The ACNE retains full responsibility for program design, integrating the program with other related programs and organizational goals, monitoring, as well as responsibility for evaluating and administering the program, including outcomes. The ACNE functions in an advisory capacity to administration and clinical leadership in evaluating proposed changes, as they relate to patient care. The incumbent coordinates and provides consultation on issues related to personnel, budget and forecast projections. S/he works closely and collaboratively with the members of the Specialty Clinics Executive Board including the Chief of Surgery, Chief of Anesthesiology, Director of Division of Hospital and Specialty Medicine (DHSM) and Chief of Medicine to provide seamless oversight of operative care programs. The incumbent participates with leaders from the governing body, management and administrative staff in upholding the hospital mission, vision, value, strategic plan and interacts with the community as needed on behalf of the medical center.
