RN Clinical Educator - Simulation Specialist

Duties:

RN Clinical Educator-Simulation Specialist Nurse - The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of staff learning with multiple training programs as a simulation operator/instructor/coordinator.  The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist is responsible for the implementation of simulation learning activities in such areas as:  nursing orientation program, RN-Transition to Practice, continuing education, in-service programs, interdisciplinary learning, individual activities, drill activities, and staff learning.  This nurse is also responsible for the coordination and/or planning, implementation and evaluation for interdisciplinary and/or other clinical personnel simulation activities.

The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the nursing orientation program, continuing education, in-service program and staff learning.  The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist shares in the development and implementation of standards, policy and procedures.  The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational needs of Eastern Kansas Health Care System and develops strategies that improve the delivery of care to patients.  The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist  assesses learning needs, develops, and implements a learning plan to meet changing program or service needs for self and others, and evaluates the effectiveness of the plan.  This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments as this is a 24/7 hospital and education and training is provided on off tours.  The incumbent must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds.  Must be willing to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments.  Makes caring for the Veteran his/her priority while in the patient setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work and all customers served.  Self-motivated in the pursuit of meeting professional standards.  Basic Life Support (BLS) required.  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required in specific specialty education and training areas of responsibility.  The Registered Nurse Educator-Simulation Specialist   is directly responsible to the Associate Chief of Nursing Service for Education, and works in collaboration with the other Educators, Associate Chiefs of Nursing Service, Clinical Specialists, Nurse Managers, Supervisors, and Staff.

 

 

 

Preferred Education/Experience:  MSN or Masters in Healthcare related field with BSN.  At least 2-3 years of experience.

 

Work Schedule: Full-time, Days with rotation
