RN, Medical Telemetry (8 East) Part Time
Kansas City, MO

8 East is a 24-bed complex medicine unit with cardiac monitoring availability by telemetry. Admissions are usually from but not limited to Blue Team, Green Team, Red Team and Neurology. Turnover rate is generally three days to one week. Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric inpatients and predominantly male.

Special services particular to this unit include care of patients with the following diagnoses:


- Complications of diabetes

- Neurological disorders

- Renal hemodialysis

- Cardiac disorders

The registered nurse provides care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process. This includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching and counseling; provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; executing medical regimens including administering medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed or otherwise legally authorized provider. The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient. 


Work Schedule: Part time, 20 hours per week. Varied 8 hour shifts, mainly 1130am to 8pm
