RN Nurse Manager

The Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Manager position is located in the Primary Care section of the Primary Care Service at Vinita, OK of the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS), Muskogee, OK.  The RN Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who is a graduate of a professional nursing program approved by the appropriate state-accrediting agency and is BLS certified.  The incumbent serves as the RN Nurse Manager at the Vinita Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), and oversees the programs functioning under the direction of the Home and Community Based Care office.  Some of the goals to accomplish these task include; but are not limited to: 

  • Ensures processes are in place to support staff. 
  • Oversight of new staff orientation, completing and overseeing staffing schedules, identifying and addressing staff education and development needs for the unit and for individuals, function as mentor to new staff and students. 
  • Responsible for directing the clinical and administrative services offered by the CBOC to ensure that the program is in compliance with local and VHA standards and policies as well as accreditation standards for home care organizations. 
  • Responsible for the interpretation and communication of VA policies to the Primary Care team and the VHA facility.
  • Responsible for communicating and interpreting non-VA national, state and local home care policies and facilities coordination and communication with non-VA care providers when necessary. 
  • Monitors and participates in quality and patient care outcome measures. 
  • Responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced based nursing standards of practice.
  • Promotes, creates, demonstrates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. 


Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
