Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the RN Supervisor utilizes the knowledge and application of nursing principles to provide clinical supervision of field staff, and visit the home of patients when requested.

Manage day to day operations and in absence of DON, triage phone calls, review staff documentation, and provide customer service.

The RN works closely with outside case managers and insurance adjuster’s, visiting patients and guiding field staff on care issues.

Take field RN reports and assesses need for other allied health care services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and home health aides, to ensure an integrated home health care delivery system, within their insurance coverage.

Assist with in-services and staff training monthly.

The Nurse/RN Supervisor conduct disciplinary actions with employees when warranted, take incident reports, and be sympathetic with customer preferences.

Triage clinical med and IV situations.

Requirements

Successful completion of a Registered Nursing (RN) program required Current license by the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. A minimum of two (2) years of home care nursing experience required. Supervisory home care experience preferred and knowledge of acute care, or rehab, a plus. The ability to effectively communicate with patients, families and case managers is required. Computer skill are required Must be flexible and willing to drive to see patients during work hours. Required State of Michigan driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Comfortable in problem solving, clinical assessment skills, and concierge type customer service
