Responsibilities: This position is responsible to ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and traced in a quality/timely manner throughout the hospital. Performs daily quality control tests. Ensures that these responsibilities are carried out according to established directions designated in procedure manual. Functions as a team member, supporting department activities providing for optimal instrument and equipment processing. Functions as a patient advocate. Responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient.

Qualifications: High school graduate or GED and three years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.

Certified Central Service Technician certification preferred.

Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred.

Technician or equivalent education/work experience, preferred




Additional Qualifications: Basic computer knowledge

Good interpersonal skills

Good verbal and written communications skills (English)

Self Motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision

Able to work standing

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.54 per hour.
