Position description
The Nurse Supervisor is the first-line manager responsible for patient care, operations management, and staff development for their assigned specialty area. This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24 - hour clinical management accountability for assigned areas. The Supervisor creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and is an advocate for patient and staff safety. This position requires collaboration with all other Mayo services to enhance patient care and assure that appropriate care is delivered for the population served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs is required. The Nurse Supervisor supports leadership through activities that includes community involvement and participation in teaching, committees and research. The American Nurses Association Nursing (ANA) Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the Scope and Standards for Nurse Administrators and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses provides the basis for care.
Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program. Masters preferred. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required and at least 3-5 years of leadership in an OR setting.
Additional qualifications
Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness required. Strong communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills required.

Management experience preferred.
License or certification
Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required.
Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,381.60, based on a full-time position.

Monday through Friday, 1400 - 2200 with flexible start times to support department needs.
Leadership coverage, meetings, etc.
Management call participation.
