Job Title: Telemetry Technician Part Time 2nd & 3rd shift-New Hyde Park

As the Telemetry Technician, you are a key member of the clinical care team. In this role, you will observe various monitors and alert nurses and physicians of changes in the patient's heart rate, rhythm and the occurrence of arrhythmias.
Responsibilities include:
  • Observes cardiac and other monitors on patients.
  • Recognizes arrhythmias and obtains documentary strip.
  • Reports all arrhythmias to nurse responsible for patient.
  • Obtains a baseline strip each shift on all monitored patients.
  • Replaces electrode pads, wires and batteries as needed.
  • Obtains EKG's as necessary.
  • Assures that all emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.

  • Must successfully complete Long Island Jewish Medical Center's training program.
  • All candidates are required to take an EKG Rhythm test and successfully pass prior to interviewing
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital setting functioning as a Nursing Attendant/Telemetry Technician, required.
  • Successful completion of an Advanced Medical Technician program, required.
  • State of NY EMT Certification
  • Successful completion of a CCU course, required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ability to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machine, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructions.

Shift Detail Multiple positions 2nd & 3rd shift including weekends & holidays. Days vary depending upon needs of the department
