Position description

The urology technician is an individual who, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the knowledge and developed the skills necessary for providing urinary catheterizations, urinary drainage tube irrigations, ultrasonic bladder scanning, and reinforcement of home-going education related to self-catheterization or urinary drainage tube irrigations. The urology technician is responsible for responding to calls on the patient care units, the emergency department, surgery, Gonda building, and Charlton building. This is a male team position. Qualifications

High school diploma or successful completion of GED. Previous health care education or experience.




Additional qualifications

Hospital medical background preferred. Ability to work independently. Ability to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Knowledge of aseptic techniques.




License or certification

Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) from once of the following programs: AHA, American Red Cross.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $18.65 per hour.
